TNIAAM is doing two-a-days, counting down every single Syracuse Orange football player. Next up is Jon Fisher.

Name: Jonathan Fisher

Position: Punter

Year: Sophomore

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 209

Hometown: Oakfield, NY

High School: Oakfield-Alabama Central

2011 Stats: Fisher saw action in nine games as a frosh, making his debut against USC. On the season, he booted 43 punts totaling 1,690 years, for a 39.3 yard average. His longest punt of the season was 57 yards and he pinned opponents inside the 20-yard line seven times, with three touchbacks.

2012 Projections: According to the 2012 post-spring depth chart, Fish is the first-string punter, so expect him to kick a lot of balls.

How'd He Get Here?: Fisher was the top-rated punter in NYS, which is sort of like being the named the tallest guy at a midget convention (can I say "midget"?). Still, on his visit to Syracuse, Coach Bob Casullo offered Fish a spot on the team the instant the kid got out of his car. After that, all he did was supplant the shanktastic Shane Raupers and the rest is history.

What did Scout/Rivals Say? Rivals dropped two on the young man. Scout, apparently, doesn't see fit to rate punters.

Money Quote: On the toughest thing about being a punter:

Just getting my mind right when I go out there. It's a lot of mental things for me, but it's stuff I can work on and get better.

Links of Wonder: Fish played in the Upstate-Downstate game, so that's something.

What Does Marrone Think?: Punters are like linemen, if the coach is talking about them, something is wrong.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Enrolled in David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics (sounds impressive).
