Re-alignment rumors heated up again yesterday in the ACC as Florida State University president Eric Barron discussed a potential move to the Big 12 in the form of a pros and cons list outlining why FSU would even consider such a move, and why the Seminoles should ultimately decide to stay in the ACC. In summary, FSU values football while the ACC values basketball, the league is too ‘North Carolina-centric’, and the ‘Noles can make more money each year in the Big 12, while on the other hand, the Big 12 is Texas-centric, it would cost more in terms of travel, and in likely revealing what it all boils down to, Florida State can’t afford the $20 to $25 million exit fee to leave the ACC.
