It's mid-May and the Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team's season is over. That's not a situation we're used to dealing with but it's one we don't have a choice about. For the third-straight season, the men have fallen short in the post-season.
And so, we look to the women to take care of business.
The Women's Lacrosse team got it done in the first round of the NCAAs with a 15-5 won over Dartmouth. They now move on to the NCAA Quarterfinals where they take on the North Carolina Tar Heels this weekend in the Carrier Dome. It will be the fifth appearance in the quarters in the last six years for the Orange as they look to advance to the Final Four for the third time in six seasons.
Meanwhile, the Syracuse softball team is off to the NCAA Tournament as well. SU heads to Tempe, Arizona for Regionals (May 17-20) where they'll be matched-up with defending National Champion Arizona St. Sun Devils (46-7), LIU Brooklyn (25-33) and Long Beach State (28-23). Syracuse and LBSU kick off the first round on Friday 6:30 p.m. ET.
The Regionals use a double elimination format and only one of those teams will advance to Super Regionals, May 24-26. After that, it's the eight-team Women’s College World Series.
Get us there, Jenna.
