Coming into this season, it was probably a safe assumption that this end of the year match-up between the Syracuse Orange and Notre Dame Fighting Irish would be the one that had the most effect on the top of the Big East lacrosse standings...and that was only if Notre Dame could keep pace with Syracuse.
Unfortunately, we all know what they say about assumptions...
Notre Dame and Syracuse have already locked up their positions in the first Big East lacrosse tournament. Notre Dame is all set to enter as the top seed, and Syracuse has backed into the number three slot. However, a win over the Irish can still really help Syracuse's resume if they fail to win the Big East tournament, although that still might be what they need to do to make the NCAA's at this point.
Notre Dame hasn't lose since February 26th, when it dropped a 4-3 overtime contest to Penn State.
The Game is set to start at 5 pm, and you can see it live on ESPNU or Orange All-Access. As always, check out College Crosse for more Lax-y goodness, and leave your comments below.
