The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team might have put together their most impressive win of the season this week, but it didn't do much for their place in the rankings.

Combining the loss to Cornell on Tuesday and the win over Rutgers on Saturday, the Orange dropped one spot in both polls this week.

In the Media Poll, the Orange are No. 14, one spot ahead of Villanova, who beat them and one spot behind Princeton, whom they beat. Fair enough.

In the Coaches Poll, the Orange are No. 15, way behind Villanova but still one spot back of Princeton. Head-to-head, schmed-to-schmed.

Loyola...yes, Loyola is your new No. 1 in both polls. They're followed by UMass, yes, UMass. Cornell is your No. 3, but there's nothing shocking about that.

Over on the women's side, the Orange remain a very clear No. 2 behind Northwestern. North Carolina, who just lost to the mighty Wildcats, is No. 3.
