Last year, the Syracuse Orange lacrosse team pounced on the St. John's Red Storm 20-6 in a Big East "breather." Will today's match-up be more of the same?
If they continue to show the kind of improvements they've already put forth this season, they might put up way more of a fight this time around:
The Red Storm’s best shot is part of the mystery entering the game. It clobbered Holy Cross 17-7 in its season opener and then got routed 19-6 at Yale. It responded with an 8-5 victory over a veteran Siena team that reached the NCAA Tournament last season and had given Hopkins fits on the road a week earlier.
"In watching the film it was two different games from when they played Yale," SU coach John Desko said. "It was night and day."
The Orange need to rebound from the loss to Virginia last week and re-establish themselves in the win column. It also wouldn't hurt to work on that faceoffs while we're at it.
The game starts at 1:00 p.m. EST in Queens and will not be televised. You can listen to play-by-play on WTKW - 99.5 FM in CNY or via OAA. And check out College Crosse for more info and updates.
