Forget #TacoTime, we reached #BurritoTime when the Syracuse Orange crossed the century mark for the first time December of 2010, beating the Monmouth Hawks 108-56.
The Hawks actually led the game 21-20 midway through the first half. And then, Syracuse remembered it was Syracuse.
"At one point it was fun out there," Fair said. "They came out there with a lot of intensity in the first half, and then once we got going we killed their intensity. Once that was gone, that’s when the game was really over."
Said Carter-Williams: "Everybody got a dunk today."
Speaking of Michael Carter-Williams, MC Dub-Dubz double-doubled yet again, scoring fifteen points and dishing sixteen assists. While MC Dub-Dubz has made plenty of assists all season, he's been itching to thrown down a dunk and he finally got a chance the scratch that itch:
"I was like, ‘You know, I haven’t gotten a dunk in a few games. I need to get one,’" Carter-Williams said. "Trevor stole the pass and gave it to me for a dunk."
Dub-Dubz also nabbed five steals and blocked four shots. He's pretty good.
Trevor Cooney also broke out with some serious scoring, garnering fifteen, all of them on three-pointers (5-9).
Brandon Triche led the Orange with 18 points while also dishing out 8 assists himself.
C.J. Fair and James Southerland scored 14, Rakeem Christmas scored 11 and DaJuan Coleman scored 11 and grabbed 14 rebounds. A nice day's work for just about everyone.
The game was basically a mis-match from before it even started, so take what you like from it. The last time SU reached the century mark? 2010, when they scored 100 against Colgate. The last time they scored this many points? 2007, when they scored 125 against East Tennessee St.
If you want to take anything of note, Syracuse scored more than Georgetown tonight...as well as Georgetown's opponent...combined.
