Syracuse Basketball Now No. 4 In AP & Coaches Polls

We're only a few weeks away from that very special "Syracuse is No. 1 but they don't really deserve it" time of the year that we all love so much. Let's savor the lead-in.

We're only a few weeks away from that very special "Syracuse is No. 1 but they don't really deserve it" time of the year that we all love so much. Let's savor the lead-in.

In the Coaches Poll, the Orange move up one spot to No. 4, thanks to Ohio State's loss to Duke. Indiana remains No. 1, followed by Duke, Michigan and the Orange with Florida in the fifth spot. Other Big East teams ranked include Louisville (No. 6), Cincinnati (No. 12), Georgetown (No. 23) and Notre Dame (No. 25). San Diego State keeps moving up at No. 15.

In the AP Poll, the Orange also move up to the No. 4 spot. The top four is the same but Louisville is fifth here. Cincinnati is getting pretty close at No. 11 while Georgetown is up at No. 15 and Notre Dame lurks at No. 22. SD State is up to No. 17.

The AP Voter You Arbitrarily Hate This Week...Ron Morris reclaims the title for himself. Morris in the only voter to put Syracuse as low as tenth. Ed Graney finally wised up and moved the Orange to seventh. New Orleans' Fletcher Mackel is next-lowest with a ranking of eighth. He also has Kentucky at tenth, so...
