Pinstripe Bowl: Which Big 12 Team Will Be Syracuse's Opponent?

We know that the Syracuse Orange will play in the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl on December 29th. The only question now is...who will they play?

Let's take a look down the Big 12 rollcall.

Kansas State won the Big 12 and will play in the Fiesta Bowl, so they're out.

Oklahoma is very likely to go to the No.2 spot, the Cotton Bowl. They'll be off the board.

The Alamo Bowl gets third pick and they're probably going to take Texas.

The Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl is expected to take Oklahoma State with the fourth Big 12 selection.

Update: The BWWB took TCU instead.

That brings us to the Holiday Bowl with the fifth pick, followed by the Meineke Car Care Bowl and then the Pinstripe and finally the Heart of Dallas Bowl.

The available teams at that point are the Texas Tech Red Raiders, TCU Horned Frogs, Baylor Bears and West Virginia Mountaineers.

We've been hearing a lot about Syracuse vs. West Virginia but it's very possible the Holiday snatches them up first. Otherwise, the Texas bowls will almost certainly pick a Texas school.

Jerry Palm still says West Virginia and so does SB Nation. We'll find out tonight when all the selections are set around 8:30 PM EST.
