Jim Boeheim goes for win No. 899 tonight as the No. 4 Syracuse Orange host the Canisius Gilden Griffins in the "first game" of the Gotham Classic.
Syracuse is also putting its 28-game home winning streak and 50-game non-conference regular season winning streak on the line as one of the nation's 13-remaining undefeated teams.
The Griffins are led by a two-headed dragon that scores in bunches:
Harold Washington and Billy Baron pace the Canisius offense. Washington is the Griffs' leading scorer, averaging 18.6 points a game. Baron scores 17.7 points per contest and leads the squad with 42 assists. Chris Manhertz is Canisius' top rebounder (8.0 rpg.), while Jordan Heath has blocked a team-high 13 shots.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 45-24 and have won 20-straight. The last time Canisius won was 1975.
