And So I Give You BathrobeAndGlovesShopliftingGate

US PRESSWIRE

Man, I thought we were gonna get through this Michael Carter-Williams-Lord-&-Taylor thing unscathed. Apparently not.

Mike Waters took his life in his own hands today and broke the story that MC Dub-Dubz did indeed try to shoplift from Lord & Taylor last weekend and got caught.

Syracuse University basketball player Michael Carter-Williams was seen shoplifting from Lord & Taylor at Destiny USA late Sunday afternoon and paid the store a $500 fine to settle the matter, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

Carter-Williams put a bathrobe and gloves into a backpack while in a fitting room, both sources said.

Couple things.

1. It's always f***ing something, isn't it?

2. A bathrobe and gloves? He couldn't have waited until May when he'll be a millionaire? He had to go into Lord & Taylor for that and not Goodwill? Did he just give every Big East fanbase a chance to wear a bathrobe during our games this year?

3. Mike Waters vs. Jim Boeheim tomorrow night. Grab your popcorn.

4. MCW had to pay a "$500 fine." Uh, there's no such thing as paying a "fine" to a retail store. That's called a bribe. I mean, I'm not complaining, but...that's an arbitrary amount of money paid in order to make sure the other party doesn't get you in trouble. That's a bribe. (NOT that I'm blaming MCW for paying it, I just think that's hilarious language).

So is anything going to happen to Dubz? Probably not. Boeheim said it himself last week...

"It’s a misunderstanding," Boeheim said. "That’s what I was told by Michael. Michael has told me exactly all he needs to tell me. It’s his private business. He settled it. I’ve got to respect that.

"I don’t know what information you have," Boeheim said. "Unless the store comes to me, my hands are tied."

The store considers the matter closed, so will Boeheim.

Towards the bottom of the article, it's revealed that MCW went for the Polo Ralph Lauren bathrobe & gloves, a $120 value. It also mentions he's not allowed inside any Lord & Taylor store for the next two years. I believe the hashtag is #SMH.
