Syracuse is No. 2 seed in the East, playing Stony Brook in the opening round. Duke looms...
During the 12-year contract for college football's new playoff format, the nation's five power conferences (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and ACC) will earn an average of nearly $75 million more per year than the smaller leagues known as the "group of five."

Coaches from Georgetown, Missouri and Kentucky are expected today at Montverde (Fla) Academy to watch 6-11 big man Dakari Johnson, his mother told SNY.tv. Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim was recently in to watch him, as were Kentucky coach John Calipari and assistants Orlando Antigua and Kenny Payne.
Where does Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim rank among coaches? | The Juice Online
During the telecast of the Long Beach State game, his 897th victory, ESPN commentators Bob Wischusen and Seth Greenberg, suggested that if there were a Mount Rushmore of college basketball coaches, Boeheim would surely have his face on the peak, along with the only other Division I men’s basketball coaches to win more than 900 games, Bob Knight and Mike Krzyzewski.
ESPN NCAAF 2012 Big East/ACC fantasy ranking
The hardest selection was ranking Syracuse. The Orange, Miami and NC State are all 7-5. Miami does not have a win as impressive as Syracuse (over then-No. 9 Louisville) or NC State (over then-No. 3 Florida State). The Hurricanes do own the head-to-head over NC State, so that gives them the advantage over the Wolfpack. That leaves Syracuse and Miami fighting for the No. 5 spot. Heather said last week she would have the Hurricanes above Syracuse. I disagree.
After posting his third consecutive double-double, Carter-Williams said he is hoping for a triple-double next, a far cry from last season’s hopes of just getting into games. He said the learning experiences from his tough first year have helped him now that he’s starring for SU. "It kept me patient and told me I still have work to do," he said, adding, "trying to make them better [in practice], made me better." Last offseason, Carter-Williams said he worked mostly on ball-handling to prepare for the new role as lead guard. Head coach Jim Boeheim is pleased with the improvement and the product on the floor. "Michael is getting his numbers every night, he’s getting the ball to people, finding people, that’s what he does." Assuming Carter-Williams keeps it up, Boeheim has a great shot at getting his team back to the Final Four.
