Brent Axe Stepping Off "The Block," Leaving The Score 1260

Syracuse radio host Brent Axe is leaving The Score 1260 for another local media gig...but what is it?

Conference realignment is claiming radio hosts now?

Syracuse radio personality and "friend of TNIAAM" Brent Axe promised that he had a big announcement for today and he certainly did. Axe announced that he is leaving The Score 1260 and next Friday, December 7th's show will be his last for them.

Axe said he cannot yet reveal his future plans, but said, "I will still be local and I will still be in the media." He additionally said he would not be going to another radio or TV station, but said he is still "dotting some I’s and crossing some T’s" before he can reveal the next chapter of his career.

Begin your conspiracy theories ("Axe was pushed out by Marrone!") and predictions ("Axe is the new Syracuse play-by-play man!").

Axe has been with Sports 1260 since 2008 and was kind enough to have me on the show so many times I've lost count. How will the Syracuse Area appreciate the dulcet tones of my voice now?

Good luck, Brent. We'll be waiting for the chance to tell you that all of life's problems would be solved if Boeheim would just play man-to-man every once in a while.

So who would you like to see take over that afternoon timeslot?
