Over on Syracuse.com, Nolan Weidner just posted an article that should put the Syracuse Orange fan mind at ease. It reads "all signs point to Syracuse football returning to the Pinstripe Bowl." Nolan spoke with a bowl rep, who had high-yet-generalized praise for the Orange:
"Syracuse translates very well in New York City," said Pinstripe Bowl executive director Mark Holtzman. "Clearly, the 'Cuse is under strong consideration."
Perfect. Nothing to worry about. I mean, it's not like Pinstripe Bowl officials are also talking openly about the potential of a Pittsburgh Panthers - West Virginia showdown in their bowl game.
@mikevukkdka @jaredsmithcny Bowl official believes PITT-WVU could sell out yankee stadium.

Before you panic too quickly, the one thing not mention here is that West Virginia has to be available for the Pinstripe. The odds are favorable but it's no sure thing. In fact, just as many people think Baylor might make it over WVU.
And of course there's chance the Belk Bowl takes us over Cincinnati, too.
All will be revealed this weekend but until then, think about how hard you want to root against Pitt this weekend against USF. There's no shame in rooting against them, by the way. Serves them right for knocking us out of bowl contention last year. Besides, the alternative could be the BBVA Compass Bowl, and nobody wants that.
