NCAA Tournament 2015 Regional Comes To Carrier Dome

New, 9 comments

If they play their cards right, the 2014 Syracuse basketball team could play in Buffalo and NYC in the NCAA Tournament.

Well, we know one thing for sure. Even if they go undefeated, the 2014-2015 Syracuse Orange will not be in the East Region. That's because the NCAA announced their schedule for the 2014 and 2015 NCAA Tournaments today and the Carrier Dome will be hosting the 2015 East Regional.

It will be the 11th time the Dome has hosted the East Regional.

There is, however, some good potential for the Syracuse basketball team in the coming years. If they can control their own destiny and perform well, they'll be rewarded with some very favorable NCAA Tourney placements.

In 2014, the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY will host 2nd/3rd Round play while Madison Square Garden will be the East Regional host. That means if they are able to secure a top seed in the East, Syracuse won't leave New York the entire NCAA Tournament until the Final Four.

In 2015, the 2nd/3rd Round returns to the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, which the Orange could still end up playing at. After that, the closest they could end up is Cleveland for the Midwest Regional. Other options are Houston and Los Angeles.
