What to watch in the Big East: Week 10 - Big East Blog - ESPN
Syracuse ground game. Can the Orange keep it up running the ball? Jerome Smith has rushed for 125-plus yards in each of the past two games, opening things up vertically for Syracuse. Cincinnati has been stout against the run all year.

Damage repair: SU defense prepares to face high-scoring Cincinnati team one week after being shredded by USF playmakers | The Daily Orange
As he did last week, John Kinder once again drew the assignment of simulating the opposing quarterback. Kinder, a backup quarterback himself, is a run-first player whose tendencies are akin to those of Daniels and Legaux. It’s a role he played last season as well, doing such an admirable job in his mimicry that linebackers coach Steve Morrison said he was often the team’s most valuable player in practice.

The game is the first postseason home game in Syracuse men’s soccer history and marks the first conference tournament game for the Orange since 2005. A win would send SU to Red Bull Arena for the semifinals and essentially ensure a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Syracuse football guard Rob Trudo brings a "powerful, mean" presence to the offensive line |
"He’s the kind of guy we need," center Macky MacPherson said of Trudo. "A tone setter. He is just a powerful, mean kid on the offensive line," MacPherson said. "He really takes his shots. He’s got a good mentality for the offensive line here."

The Morning Orange: Syracuse football owes some thanks to two opposing coaches (Jones and Holtz) |
The Bearcats, next up for Syracuse, can all but be eliminated from the Big East race by the Orange on Saturday afternoon because their coach, Butch Jones, got cute last week down the stretch against Louisville.

Preseason Top 25 + 1 Countdown -
Regardless of the losses and the questions, the truth is that I like this team and what's possible. That's partly why we have the Orange ranked seventh in the preseason Top 25 (and one), two spots ahead of where it sit in the Associated Press and coaches polls. Are there any stars on the roster? Maybe not ... unless Michael Carter-Williams emerges as one, which is possible given his natural ability.

Tipoff Countdown: Is this Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim’s last season? | The Juice Online
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim is entering his 37th season as the head coach of the Orange, and it’s become an annual ritual to speculate about the old ball coach. Is this the season that Boeheim decides to hang it up?

Syracuse Orange: Breaking Down the Team's November Slate
Verdict: To the untrained eye, this appears to be an easy slate. To me, this is the right mix of talented match-ups and cupcakes. Wagner and Princeton will each present the Orange a challenge while road games against the Aztecs and Razorbacks should quiet the critics. I could see a loss in this month, but we’ll say the Orange starts the year out 5-0.

Michael Carter-Williams - Syracuse - College Basketball's 10 Best in the Big East - Photos -
No. 10 - Michael Carter-Williams: While last year's numbers are low, this spot might end up being a bit low too given Carter-Williams's talent. The 6-5 Massachusetts native had to wait in line behind Dion Waiters, Scoop Jardine, and new starting backcourt-mate Brandon Triche for playing time as a freshman, but he'll have plenty of opportunities to show his offensive abilities in his sophomore season.

Syracuse has had fits facing mobile quarterbacks this year and now must stop another this week in Cincinnati's Munchie Legaux.

Over or under 25 wins for Syracuse basketball this season? Mike L. says right on it. 25-6 in 2012-2013.
