While the Syracuse Orange's 14-13 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers on Friday was a positive night for SU fans, the moments surrounding the collision that left senior safety Shamarko Thomas motionless on the turf was a scary one.
Even though he was able to get up and walk away from it, it's hard not to think that the hit will have lasting effects. For the time being, Doug Marrone is saying that #SHAMARKO is day-to-day.
"I think he’s doing fine," SU head coach Doug Marrone said this morning on the weekly Big East coaches’ teleconference. "I talked to him the other day. We’re day-to-day with him."
Smart money is still on Shamarko sitting out at least one game, depending in what the medical prognosis is.
Thomas has been pretty radio silent on social media since the game. The only things he's added are posts on this new Syracuse Athletics profile video about him. Let's watch!
