5. Syracuse (3-1) – Sometimes you need a little luck to win games. Syracuse was the benefactor of a horrible call in Saturday's game against Toledo, which improved the Orange to 3-1 on the year. The officiating crew incorrectly ruled an extra point was good, even though replays seem to clearly show it was off to the left. Although there's no guarantee it would have changed the outcome of the game, it's still a careless mistake that officials can't afford to make. Syracuse hosts Rutgers in the Big East opener for both teams this Saturday.

7. Syracuse (3-1). The Orange are a pretty weak 3-1 team. They should be a 2-2 team after officials blew a call against Toledo, awarding them an extra point that clearly went wide. Syracuse has beaten two teams in overtime and barely beat an FCS team. They are not playing like one of the top teams in the league.

He ranks 25th in the nation with 22.5 completions per game and 24th in pass efficiency at 156.0. His 234.8 yards per game is third in the BIG EAST, and he is one of four quarterbacks in the conference to have a 300-yard passing game (318 vs. Rhode Island).

Just four games into his sophomore season, Ross Krautman moved into ninth-place on the Orange all-time field goal list, and was recognized as one of the Groza Award's Stars of the Week. Krautman converted on all-four of his field goal attempts last weekend against Toledo, including the game-winner from 27-yards out in overtime.
