The Dag Bag – Does SU have any shot against USC? | The Juice Online
Overall, I’m interested to see how Syracuse will handle a cross-country game against a big-name, non-conference opponent. The two teams haven’t played each other in 21 years when Mikhail Marinovich’s brother, Todd, was the quarterback for the Trojans.

Doug Marrone's Syracuse Orange Can and Will Show a Program Revival Versus USC | Bleacher Report
Syracuse has not started off a season 3-0 since 1993 and has not started a season with three straight wins since 1991. Syracuse is not expected to win, as shown by a 16.5 point spread. However, if the Orange can pull the upset, Marrone and his team will have the Syracuse Orange back on the national radar earn the respect this program has lacked for so many years.

Syracuse football punter Shane Raupers has big shoes to fill | syracuse.com
"[Rob Long] said, ‘Everything’s not going to be so easy, so if you have a bad day just come back the next day and get the right mindset,’" Raupers said. "To hear a little encouragement from him after the game was great. I’m just trying to get the job done."

Syracuse Orange players, coaches aware of Southern California football tradition | syracuse.com
While the Coliseum won’t be full, Saturday’s turnout should be the largest crowd the Orange has seen since a September 2009 game at Penn State drew 106,387. SU’s game at Washington last September drew 62,418. The Trojans drew 68,273 for their opener against Minnesota, and 73,821 showed up for last weekend’s Pac-10-opening win over Utah.

Poliquin: Ed Orgeron, the former Syracuse football aide, will long admire his old boss, Paul Pasqualoni | syracuse.com
"Paul took a chance on me," admitted Orgeron on Wednesday morning as he sat on a bench outside Heritage Hall, the most famous of the many famous buildings on the USC property that is more oasis than campus. "People told him, ‘You’re taking a shot with that guy. He’s a little wild off the field. You better watch out.’ But Paul took me on and he gave me parameters. And it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me in my career.

Syracuse vs. USC: Who has the better all-time running backs? | syracuse.com
Both teams certainly have a history of great rushers. Southern Cal has had five running backs win the Heisman Trophy (although one, Reggie Bush, later forfeited his award). Syracuse has several runners enshrined in the college or pro football halls of fame.

Coaches vs. Cancer basketball tournament moving from Madison Square Garden to Brooklyn | syracuse.com
The tournament that started in 1995 will move next year from Madison Square Garden to the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn and its exclusive broadcast and media rights will be owned by Turner Sports.

FB | Scouting Southern California with SU defensive coordinator Scott Shafer - Sports - The Daily Orange
I think all the (defensive ends) have done a nice job. Coach Daoust has got those kids ready to go. Yeah, we're going to miss Chandler, he's a good football player. But it's a great opportunity for those kids to play in a beautiful venue and play against some of the best players in the country, and it will be a lot of fun.

College Football Preview: USC vs. Syracuse
Given everything we’ve seen over the last two weeks, assuming that Syracuse will simply roll over for Barkley and Co. would be crazy. Both of these squads have effective -- albeit sporadic -- offenses that can score in a hurry, so defense may end up playing a big role in this one.

FB | 3 things Syracuse needs to do to beat USC - Sports - The Daily Orange
Somebody has to hit Matt Barkley. In order for Syracuse to be in the game near the end against Southern California, somebody needs to pressure the Trojans' quarterback to disrupt his rhythm.
