I think we can all agree that the best solution to the Carrier Dome and Syracuse Orange football's attendance woes is is to raise the prices on the nearby parking lots and clamp down on fan tailgating.

Obviously, that's what's going to get more Syracuse fans to show up and spend money in the local economy. So this is fantastic news from the city of Syracuse.

Fans heading up to the Syracuse University football team’s next home game against Toledo in a couple of weeks should be warned that parking lots closest to the Carrier Dome are raising their rates and changing their policies.

"A tradition is great and fine, but we still have to run a business here...limit our risks and liability," said Syracuse Housing Authority Executive Director Bill Simmons.

Prices for parking in the lots closest to the Dome will now be $15 instead of $10, tailgaiting will only be allowed up to two hours before the game and no alcohol will be allowed in the lots.

I think we can all agree that you should probably not park in these lots anymore if at all possible. The lots up by the School of Management are a fantastic spot for tailgaiting and there's tons of SU fans camped out for hours there. And, as far as I'm aware, issues are minimal.
