They say the sun never sets on the Otto-man Empire. Now they'll have to learn how to say that in Estonian.
Scoop Jardine is now off to China where he plans to annex the nation and pick up some really great smarthpones on the cheap (Ooh Yea That's Cheap Labor!"). Meanwhile, Baye Moussa Keita and Brandon Triche are in Estonia playing for the East Coast All-Stars in a barnstorming tour of the country.
The roster includes Triche, Keita, Purdue's Anthony Johnson, Iowa's Matt Gatens and many other notable players.
Things kicked off for the squad Wednesday evening with a 104-61 exhibition win over something called Viimsi Spordikeskuss. Syracuse's stars were key in the victory. Keita had 11 points,17 rebounds and four blocked shots, and Triche contributed 13 points and seven assists.
East Coast now has a practice day in Tallinn's Saku Arena Thursday and then they'll get down to busines on Friday with a showdown against the Sweden National Team. From there, they'll play two more games in consecutive days against Georgia and Estonia and then return home to a hero's welcome.
And by hero's welcome I mean they'll return to their dorms to play Call of Duty and pass out after eating some wings from Acropolis.
One note...SU Athletics refereed to Keita as "Baye Keita," leaving out the Moussa. I will not follow suit. Nor should you.
