You would have thought Randy Edsall had run out of ways to stick it to the UConn Huskies. And, as usual, you would have been wrong. Dummy.
Corey Edsall, progeny of former Syracuse player and UConn football coach Randy Edsall, will walk-on at Syracuse University this season.
Corey Edsall, a standout quarterback at East Catholic High School in Manchester, Conn., will try to make the Orange team as a walk-on. He is the son of former UConn coach Randy Edsall, who is now in his first year at Maryland.
Marrone said the younger Edsall will get a look at quarterback and long snapper -- positions he played in high school.
The Orange already have seven QBs on the roster, two of which are walk-ons, so I can't imagine there's too much of a need there. We could always use depth at the long snapper spot, so, I'm choosing that one.
Doug Marrone has extremely high hopes for Master Edsall:
"We’re looking for him to produce for us in some type of way."
"Even if its just performing comedy skits during water breaks," added Marrone.
Edsall joins Louis Addazio, son of Temple Owls coach Steve Addazio, on the Syracuse Football "All-Coaches-Sons First Team."
