Considering all of the charges brought against Syracuse Orange wide receiver Marcus Sales, it's slightly surprising to see him still on the team, especially given the way past transgressors have been dealt with.
Sales was in City Court for a brief appearance this morning and it looks like we won't get any legal closure until after the 2011 season is over.
They appeared briefly before City Judge Stephen Dougherty who allowed Sales to remain free under the Pre-Trial Release Program while his criminal charges are pending. The judge then adjourned the case to Feb. 9 at Vavonese's request.
So the good news is that Sales will be free to live his life and play football for the Orange. The unknown news is whether or not SU and Doug Marrone will grant him that opportunity.
Of course, the Sales' brothers could also negotiate a resolution of the charges with prosecutors before the February court date as well. In other words, keep an eye on the lawdogs at Orange44 for updates.
