Syracuse Orange football coach Doug Marrone stopped by "The Show" on 95X to chat about Syracuse Football and somewhere along the way, he introduced us to the final piece of The Ultimate Syracuse Football Victory Post-Game Meal. The Dove Bar.

"I'll tell you, you know what happened to me one time when I was an assistant coach. The one thing I looked forward to after a big win on the road was a Dove Bar. So we wound up playing...we were playing a team and we were winning 40-something to seven at halftime. The quarterback on the opposing team gets hurt, they bring the back-up in. He looked like Peyton Manning. He threw for...he broke a record...he threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns. We had to recover an onside kick to win the game.

So after the game was over, the head coach gets up there...it's like we lost...no one's talking...and then we get on the plane with the kids...and all of a sudden I'm like, 'you know what, I just want a Dove Bar.' And then the head coach gets up, 'No Dove Bars!' So, as I was leaving the plane, I looked over...there was a hundred, hundred and ten Dove Bars melting. I was SO upset about that.

You can yell at me, you can do whatever you want...don't take away my food."

So, to recap, after every Syracuse Orange football victory this season, you must immediately...

1. Eat a bologna and cheese sandwich.

2. Down it with four Gatorades.

3. Wash it all down with a delicious Dove Bar.

Oh, and you should probably blast some Train on the loudspeakers while eating...

"I've been listening to a lot of Train. They've kinda made a good run and they've come back with Martina McBride and they've done a lot. So basically it's been Train but now, what happens is, I have certain music that I listen to when I'm going to the stadium and I'm getting ready to play and a certain music I listen to after the game. So I listen to music...more heavy metal, rock and roll going to the game, and then after the game I try to wind down."

"I go to AC/DC. You know, you got AC/DC, Metallica...I grew up with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath...I had the Black Sabbath jacket, I'm not proud of that. I saw Van Halen open up for Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, I saw them...I've seen them all."

Doug Marrone's iPod has Giving The Dog A Bone followed by Hey, Soul Sister and I'm fine with that.

Meanwhile, it's also a great discussion by Marrone about the mental toughness of the SU players, why the SU football team mentality matches the mentality of Syracuse, NY, whether or not he's a cuddler and the time his wife had to tell Johnny's Pizzeria that the standing Friday pizza and wings order was cancelled because Doug felt the team wasn't working hard enough. Go listen now (right side of page).
