ESPN College GameDay Will Descend On Syracuse vs. UConn

Update: Maybe the game is being played in Storrs? We don't deserve the Storrs treatment. We're Hartford-worthy!

I think we can all agree that, considering it only happens once this season and, you know, it's Syracuse vs. Georgetown, the smart pick for ESPN College Gameday would have been to come to the Dome for the Syracuse-Georgetown game.

They will not be doing that. Instead, they're going to beautiful Hartford.

The ESPN College Gameday crew will be there when the Syracuse Orange visit the defending national champion UConn Huskies on February 25th. The game apparently fits all of their criteria:

Nick Dawson, director of ESPN programming & acquisitions, said, "This GameDay/Saturday Primetime schedule reflects our desire to offer viewers both the best possible conference matchups that hopefully have title implications, and the most exciting venues with the most passionate fans from which to televise GameDay."

"Best possible conference matchups." Fair enough.

"Hopefully has title implications." Well we know Syracuse will be in the title hunt, not so sure about the Team Formerly Known As The Fightin' Kembas.

"The most exciting venues." SOUND THE PRICE IS RIGHT HORN. The XL Center? Most exciting? Over, say, the Carrier Dome? Get out of my face.

"The most passionate fans." Good point, a LOT of Syracuse fans will be there. It is, after all, practically a home game.
