We're counting down every SU football player, one a day, from Chandler Jones (#99) to Phil Thomas (#1). Keep track of every player profile right here.

Next up on your Orange-Man Orientation, #46 Jonathan Fisher.

Position: Punter

Year: Freshman

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 210 pounds

Hometown: Oakfield, NY

High School: Oakfield-Alabama Central

2010 Stats: He's a freshman, so, none.

2011 Projections: Fisher could very well be our starting punter this season and could even garner kick-off duties if he's able to hack it. The only other punter on the roster is Shane Raupers, who spent the spring game shanking everything he touched.

How'd He Get Here?: Fisher averaged 46.7 yards per kick on 19 punts during the 2009 season and 41.6 YPK on 36 punts in 2010. He also had 7 touchbacks this past season. For his good work, he received interest from Rutgers, Connecticut and West Virginia. However when Syracuse offered, he accepted. I mean, he immediately accepted.

"I was there this morning and they offered me face to face. My dad and I got out of the car and coach (Bob) Casullo came walking right towards us. Right in the parking lot he told us they wanted to offer me. They said I had 24 hours but I told him, ‘Coach, I’m taking it."

Scouts/Rivals Said: Rivals gave him two-stars but rated him the No. 11 punter overall. Scout didn't rate him.

Money Quote: "I've always wanted to go to Syracuse." Done

Links of Wonder: Here's Fisher signing his LOI surrounded by a lot of people.

Doug Marrone Thinks: Nothing officially, but I'm sure he likes him.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Fisher did pretty well in the Upstate-Downstate game even if his team didn't.

Let Us Get A Good Look Atchya: Watch Jonny Fish boom a punt...
