And so the Syracuse Basketball schedule has a beginning.

The Orange will begin the 2011-2012 season with their usual two exhibition games in the Dome and they'll playing two familiar exhibition foes, Cal-State Los Angeles and College of St. Rose. The Orange and the CSULA Golden Eagles will square off on Tuesday, November 1, and SU will host the CoSR Golden Knights on Tuesday, November 8.

It was the James Southerland Show the last time we played CSULA, a 97-54 win in '09. The freshman scored 19 and shot 5-5 from three-point range. Of course, it was against a DII school, but it set the tone early. We also beat them in 2008.

Why do we play these guys so much? Cause they're coached by former SU standout and All-Century Team member Stephen Thompson.

As for College of St. Rose, the Golden Knights (shouldn't they be the Rosey Knights?) are coming of a Division II NCAA Tournament berth and 22-9 season. The Knight are looking for a little payback from a 2007 exhibition game that SU won, 80-71.

Sorry LeMoyne, no room for you this year. Hopefully we'll start hearing about the games that count soon as well.
