Next up on your Orange-Man Orientation, #79, Kristofer Curtis.
Position: Offensive line
Year: Freshman
Height: 6'5''
Weight: 290 pounds
Hometown: Fayetteville, GA
High School: Fayette County H.S.
2010 Stats: N/A
2011 Projections: Not too much expected, really. There's a lot of guys ahead of him on the depth chart and, barring injury, you probably shouldn't expect to see too much of Curtis this year.
How'd He Get Here?: Curtis chose Syracuse over Kentucky, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State and Tulane.
Scouts/Rivals Said: Rivals had him as a three-star player while Scout had him listed a two-star. Meanwhile, ESPN was pretty high on Curtis:
Curtis is a tough run blocker with the playing strength to dominate opponents once he gets his hands on them. Has the size and athleticism for the offensive tackle position at the major level of competition. Shows good flexibility, balance and agility playing out of a three point stance
Money Quote: "I committed to Syracuse [Monday]. It's about their great academics and a great direction of the program...The staff is amazing and coach [Greg] Adkins has been all over me and he has showed me a lot of love."
Links of Wonder: Here's his testimonial for 360 Football Academy, which he apparently enjoyed.
Doug Marrone Thinks: "We’ve got a lot of size coming in on the offensive line." I know that's not specifically about Curtis, but, he's a part of that. I think.
Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Curtis got into great shape this winter playing basketball, shedding around 20 lbs.
