Another day, another commitment to the Syracuse Football Class of 2012.
Today it's lineman Jason Emerich of Blue Mountain High School (not to be confused with that miserable show) in Schuylkill Haven, PA.
Emerich is a 6-foot-4, 275-pounder who was a second-team Class AAA/AAAA all-state offensive lineman last year in Pennsylvania. He said he would likely play on the offensive line at SU.
Emerich, who made his commitment in person on the SU campus today, said he also had offers from Connecticut, Central Florida, Temple, Akron and Buffalo.
What sold Emerich on the Orange? What else...the coaches:
"I just had a really good feeling with the coaches," Emerich said. "I think they have a great staff and I love the direction Coach [Doug] Marrone has the program going in. They have all done a real good job in a very short time. I just feel real comfortable with the decision after visiting them today."
Scout went two-star with him while Rivals doesn't have anything. Good work as always, Rivals.
The Fizz spoke with his Dad briefly before the commitment, basically saying that Syracuse was probably the leader. And we were.
