All of Orange Nation will light a candle and pray that its Dear Leader recovers quickly and easily from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to fix a torn meniscus on Monday.
Marrone, who turns 47 next month, had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to fix a torn meniscus. The coach, who is preparing for his third season at the helm of the Orange program, was recovering at home around dinner-time and said he felt good following the procedure.
"It was hurting pretty good," Marrone said of the knee, which he twisted earlier this year and apparently aggravated an old football injury.
The injury comes from Marrone's NFL Europe days. Damn you, Europe, you continue to haunt us from afar.
Marrone expects to be back at work on Tuesday, albeit on crutches. Though let's be honest, the crutches are going to be for show. In fact, I believe this whole surgery thing is one giant charade to make Doug Marrone seem human.
And as we all know, that's simply not true. This is his true form.
