Rick Jackson's pro career isn't over before it starts. He might not have gotten drafted last night but he certainly will still have a chance to play in the NBA once they sort out their financials. Plenty of quality guys have emerged from the free agent pool to make a name for themselves.
That said, if you've spent your entire high school and college basketball careers dreaming of the day an NBA team decides to use a draft pick on you, it has to be depressing to have that moment pass you by. A dream unrealized.
So I don't blame Rick for being frustrated last night. I can imagine all of those thoughts going through my head if I was in his shoes. I do hope he's had some time to think and realize this isn't the end of the road, just a minor speed bump. He'll have his opportunity to cut new a**holes in due time.
