We haven't spent too much time discussing the ladies 'round these parts. Me thinks it's time for their fair due.

First up, the Syracuse Women's Lacrosse Team, which won a share of the Big East regular season title (with Georgetown, yucky) and earned the top seed in this week's Big East Tournament.

The Orange had a rough start to the season, but enter the tournament on a five-game winning streak and a 10-7 record. The Orange won the league title back to back in 2007 and 2008 and will look to earn another automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament by winning this one.

Their first-round match-up will be Thursday at 5:30 p.m. EST against Big East rival...Loyola? That's right, if anyone ever asks, Loyola is technically a Big East school, at least when it comes to women's lax. The winner of that game takes on the winner of Georgetown vs. Notre Dame on Saturday.

CBS Sports Network will televise both semifinals as well as the championship game. All games will be played at Georgetown (yucky).

Meanwhile, the Syracuse Softball team is all kinds of good right now. Syracuse is 36-11, which matches the most wins in school history. The Orange is currently riding a six-game winning streak, one in which it has outscored its opponents 41-0.

They'll have a chance to set a new school wins record when they open a five-game homestand to close out the 2011 regular season against Niagara (18-18) on Wednesday, May 4 at 4 p.m. at the SU Softball Stadium. Syracuse is 8-0 all-time against Niagara, so, things look good.

Do you want to know the terrifying truth or do you want to watch Syracuse Softball sock a few dingers? Cause if you like dingers to be socked, this is your team. The Orange has already eclipsed the school mark for home runs with 56 (previously 51).
