We're counting down every SU football player, one a day, from Chandler Jones (#99) to Phil Thomas (#1). Keep track of every player profile here.

Next up on your Orange-Man Orientation: #84, Michael Acchione

Position: Wide Receiver

Year: Senior

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 170 pounds

Hometown: Solvay, NY

High School: Solvay High School

2010 Stats: None. Same goes for 2009 and 2008.

2011 Projections: Probably much of the same as the previous three years. With a wide receiver corp as deep as its been in the last four years, there's not much room for this walk-on, despite his experience. His size limits his ability to be effective on special teams

How He Got Here: Like Macky MacPherson, Michael was destined to suit up for the Orange. His father, Garry, was a DB for Syracuse in the late 70's-early 80's. Acchione did good work in high school, earning all-league honors in 2005, 2006 and 2007 as a receiver. He was also a 2007 All-CNY selection at defensive back. He came to SU in 2008 and made the team as a walk-on.

Scouts/Rivals Said That: As you might imagine, neither Scout nor Rivals had much to say about him.

Money Quote: "i have no idea what im doing on here," Acchione shortly after giving Twitter a second chance last year. He hasn't been back on in a year.

Links of Wonder: Pickin's are slim for Michael, so here's all the photos he appears in on Syracuse.com

What Doug Marrone Thinks: No specific quotes that I can find. There's no proof that Marrone even knows who Acchione is.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Acchione was a six-year member of the Solvay track team (I guess he started young?), running sprints and as a leg of the 4x400m relay team that finished second in New York State in 2008.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest 2: As I mentioned, he's a legacy. Garry Acchione played for the Orange between 1978 and 1981. A teammate of Art Monk's, Gary was there when Monk was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Since his playing days, he's been a football coach in high school and semi-pro leagues. Papa Acchione and SU linebacker coach Dan Conley used to coach together at Liverpool High School.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest 3: His brother, Todd, walked-on at Michigan State. A QB in high school, he played WR for the Spartans.

Let Us Get A Good Look Atchya: No videos that I can find so here's a photo of Acchione in high school, tearing it up.
