The rosters for the upcoming Empower New York State High School Football Classic (a.k.a. The Upstate/Downstate Classic) are complete and, as they should be, they're full of incoming Syracuse recruits.
One Orange recruit who was committed to play in the game will be dropping out. Offensive lineman Nick Robinson of C.W. Baker High School (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) said he is recovering from mononucleosis and isn't in football shape, so he decided to sit this one out. Sounds like a good call.
Nolan Weidner has the full list of Upstate players in the game, but here's the ones committed to play for the Orange or who say they'll be walking-on with the team. The game will be played June 5th in the Dome.
Upstate Roster
Ashton Broyld, QB, Rush-Henrietta
Mike Messina, RB, Aquinas Institute*
Jon Fisher, K, Oakfield-Alabama
Jesse Wolf-Gould, OL, Oneonta

Downstate Roster
Terrel Hunt, QB, Christ the King
Brandon Reddish, RB/WR, Fort Hamilton
Ivan Foy, OL, Fort Hamilton
Tyree Smallwood, RB, Cornwall
Ryan Sloan, DL, Bellport High
*Messina is coming to Syracuse on a scholarship, but not to play football. He'll be playing lacrosse here.
