Syracuse Lacrosse has seen its share of injuries this year. Most notably, defenseman John Lade and human highlight reel Tim Desko. Lade is back (and podcastin'), but it looks like Desko will remain on the sidelines for the big game against the No. 1 Irish on Saturday.
Syracuse's Tim Desko will not play for the Orange this Saturday against Notre Dame, coach John Desko said at practice Wednesday.
The junior attackman's injured knee has become infected, and he's on medication to bring the swelling down, coach Desko said.
According to the report, Desko might not play in the season-ender against St. John's, which is just, as well.
The good news is that Tommy Palasek has been filling Desko's void fantastically. He has tallied at least one point in six straight games and is coming off a six-point performance against Rutgers.
What's at stake in this game? Nothing short of the No. 1 seed overall in the NCAA Tournament. Sure, the Big East crown is on the line, as well, but, at the end of the day, I'm pretty sure we'll still take an NCAA Title over a Big East one any day.
The RPI says we're No. 1 right now, but a loss here ends all that. Plus, the RPI is cow dung anyway, right Glaude?
The good news for everyone is that for those not attending (and arriving early), the game will be televised on ESPNU at 7 pm EST. And if you watch one Syracuse lacrosse game this season, this is it. At least until we play Notre Dame again in the Final Four...
