Why does this all feel so familiar? Oh, right...
April 9th, 2009 - Syracuse announces that junior Paul Harris is going pro.
April 13th, 2009 - Paul Harris tells The Post-Standard, "I didn't know a thing about it...It's already out there so I might as well." Harris would leave a few days later for real.
Aprill 22, 2009 - Jim Boeheim told Andy Katz, "...I'll take Wesley Johnson over Paul Harris." Boeheim later says he was taken "out of context."

April 16th, 2011 - Jim Boeheim just throws out the news that freshman guard Dion Waiters is considering transferring. He also makes sure to mention incoming guard Michael Carter-Williams ("He's really, really good.")
April 16th, 2011 - Dion Waiters tells folks on Twitter, "dnt believe that if it didn't come out my mouth."

When you give Jim Boeheim agita, Jim Boeheim knows how to give you agita right back. Nick outlined the specifics here pretty well but the fact is, we're talking about a player who told Jim to "f*** off" during a game earlier this year. This wouldn't be the most shocking thing you've ever heard. Especially given Jim's lack of, shall we say, attachment to players who cause him grief when their replacement looms on the horizon.
That said, Dion seems as confused by all this as anyone. Whether or not that's confusion because he doesn't plan on transferring or because he didn't think the news would get out so quick, that remains to be seen. In the meantime, I'd refrain from calling him a "jerk" or a "punk" or something worse. I mean, he might still be a point guard for your Syracuse Orange next year.
(And keep it clean in the comments down there will ya?)
