The USA took down the World in the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit on Saturday night as the top college prospects showcased their talents in Portland. Led by Austin Rivers, the USA easily handled the World in a 92-80 win, thanks to four players in double-figures. Rivers scored a game-high 20 points to pace team USA in the win.
As for Rakeem Christmas, he...well...he was in the building. Christmas had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks and a steal in 17 minutes of play (boxscore). Rak didn't really register in the stat sheet or in the post-game reports, same as the McDonald's game. Take from that what you will. You probably shouldn't take much. Be happy Christmas looked agile, athletic and quick.
The real star of the game was Bismack Biyombo, who tallied 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots for the first triple-double in the game’s history. Don't get any ideas, the Congolese big man is already a pro and will enter the NBA Draft this year.
Check out Rakeem (No. 13 in white) bodying up Biyombo and making some nice defensive plays for Team USA. He's no stiff, that's for sure:
