But then again you already knew that.

After topping Virginia in a comeback 12-10 victory on Friday, 3-0 Syracuse confirmed its spot atop both polls, shoving the Cavaliers out of the Coaches Poll No. 1 slot they both shared last week.

In the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll the Orange received all 12 first-place votes. Despite losing to the Orange on Friday, Virginia remains its place at No. 2. Big East battery mate Notre Dame is No. 3. Georgetown sneaks into the poll at No. 20.

Over in the USILA Division I Coaches Poll, SU got all first-place votes this week, dropping Virginia to No. 2. The Irish are also No. 3. Oddly enough, Georgetown is unranked but Rutgers (No. 19) and Villanova (No. 20) snuck in there.

As for the Big East, the standings are starting to take shape and the conference as whole is holding up as we get close to conference play. Up next for the Orange, the Georgetown Hoyas on Saturday.

Big East Standings

#20 Georgetown (2-1, 1-0)

Rutgers (4-0, 0-0)

#1 Syracuse (3-0, 0-0)

#3 Notre Dame (3-0, 0-0)

Providence (2-0, 0-0)

Villanova (3-1, 0-0)

St. Johns (1-2, 0-1)
