Say what you will but Syracuse Lacrosse keeps winning. And as long as they do that, they'll stay No. 1 in the country.
Syracuse (7-0) remains the No. 1 team in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, though Notre Dame picked up one first-place vote as they moved up to No. 2 in the nation. Virginia dropped to No. 4 after losing to Johns Hopkins. Mo. 3 Duke and No. 5 North Carolina round out the top five.
SU also remained the unanimous No. 1 ranking in the USILA Division I Coaches Poll. Notre Dame, Duke and North Carolina follow but Johns Hopkins jumped all the way up to No. 5 after their win over Virignia, who dropped to No. 6.
Villanova proved their worth against Syracuse this weekend and so they stayed at No. 11 in the Media Poll and only dropped to No. 8 in the Coaches Poll.
Syracuse plays Duke this weekend in showdown of No. 1 vs. No. 3. Not to mention they're the defending national champs.
The Big East is holding its own so far this season and, if things hold, Syracuse vs. Notre Dame could end up being the game of the year in NCAA Lacrosse, not just the Big East.
