Had an email forwarded to me from Jonathan Weinberg, Chairman of the DC Race for Hope. I'll let him explain what they've got coming up and why it might be of interest to Syracuse fans...

My name is Jonathan Weinberg and I am the Chairman of the DC Race For Hope (a 5K run/walk). Our event which takes place this year on Sunday May 1st at Freedom Plaza is the largest single-day fundraiser for brain cancer research. Last year over 10,000 people attended and we raised $2.3 million for research. Each year at our race we honor a person with the Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Triumph of the Spirit Award, who exemplifies that no matter the challenges he or she faces they show courage and determination and rise above their circumstance. I thought that this year's recipient of the award might be of particular interest to the Syracuse Alumni of Washington D.C., as we plan to honor Rob Long. We read about Rob's story and he truly embodies the triumph of the spirit.

If you are interested in supporting Rob and the Race for Hope, please visit our site at www.curebraintumors.org. When you get to the site, click on the "Race Team List" link and then go to "Team 47" this is Rob's team page. (You can also go directly there by clicking here). You can either sign-up as a team member and join us on May 1st or if your schedule does not permit to be there in-person you can donate to Team 47. I know Rob would greatly appreciate your support of this important cause.

If you can help, sounds like a great cause. And if you really can, make your donations in increments of $44 or $22, at least.
