I don't know what everyone's talking about, a Syracuse basketball team just won their second game in a post-season tournament to advance into the third round.
Okay, so, it might not be the exact Syracuse basketball team you're thinking of or the exact post-season tournament you're thinking of, but maybe that just means the problem is...you.
The Syracuse Women might have been snubbed from the NCAAs but they're making the most of their time in the Women's NIT. Playing with a little something to prove, the Orange rattled off their second win of the tourney Monday, 63-50.
Syracuse shot 41.1 percent Monday night, marking the fourth consecutive game that the squad has shot 40.0 percent or better from the field. SU out-rebounded St. Bonaventure, 43-29, in the team’s 41st consecutive non-conference home win.
Sophomore center Kayla Alexander and sophomore guard Elashier Hall joined [Iasia] Hemingway with double-digit points in the victory. Alexander registered 12 points and three blocks, while Hall added 10 points and six boards.
This comes on the heels of their first-round 77-53 win over Monmouth.
The Orange advance to the third round of the tournament on Thursday, March 24, when they host Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Win there and they face the winner of Alabama-Toledo. Win that one and it's off to the Final Four in...site TBD. (bracket here).
I guess they just play all the WNIT games in home arenas? Whatever, if the NIT has to run through the Dome, so be it. We'll take all the basketball wins we can get.
