IMLCA Round-Up: Virginia's Blake Riley Injured, Maryland Didn't Plan to Stall vs. ’Cuse |
Unsolicited, he brought up the uproar after the Terps' NCAA Quarterfinal game against Syracuse, during which they were notably given double-digit stall warnings. He said that he and his staff didn't discuss stalling, holding the ball or slowing down at all — the flow of the game and the quality of Syracuse's big, athletic defenders meant the Terps were pressured into a lot of shots that goalie John Galloway would eat up.

Reaction To Bernie Fine From Inside Syracuse " Rush The Court
It is easy to get discouraged by the seemingly never-ending media circus, but the university and the students have handled it well. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly why so few students have been rattled by the investigation. "Offensively, we probably had 10 fast-break opportunities that we didn't convert, that you have to convert those," Boeheim said. "We just made some bad decisions, bad pass, bad decision, you've got to convert those. We just didn't and it's disappointing."

Syracuse University Athletics - Orange Earns 19th AFCA Academic Honor

The 2011 award reflects the academic success of the class that entered in the Fall of 2004. Boise State and Miami (Ohio) won the 2011 AFCA Academic Achievement Award.
