Syracuse Daily Links - Right Move For Chandler Jones?

Chandler Jones Leaves Syracuse, Decides to Enter NFL Draft. Smart Decision? : Orange Fizz
Was it the smart move for Jones? Depends. It’s not like he is going in without strong consultation. His brother Art has gone through the process before. Chan also tweeted he’s set to graduate in May. He’ll likely earn a hefty paycheck in the fall. Hard to argue right? He must have a good sense of being drafted in the first five rounds, because anything outside of that would be a crapshoot and no guarantee to make the team out of camp.

Thursday’s 51-point victory is the largest margin of victory for the Orange since an 81-17 win against Delaware State last season. Syracuse University lacrosse junior JoJo Marasco will be called on to bolster midfield this season |
Marasco has had the dual midfield/attack description ever since his arrival at SU. Desko likes the player’s ability to dodge from up top and also take the ball behind the cage and run the offense from there. He has employed the Marasco at both positions in the same game in an effort to provide an offensive spark and perhaps confuse an opposing defense. Marasco started all 17 games last season at attack but took frequent shifts at midfield. He scored 41 points (23 goals, 18 assists), tied for the team lead with Stephen Keogh (33-8).

NBA Scouts Want Consistency From Fab Melo |
"[The] biggest issue with him is can he consistantly look like a first round pick night in and night out for them," one NBA scout told prior to the Seton Hall game. "Until and unless he can do that he will be considered as simply a player who came in with great hype but hasn’t lived up to it."

Offense on pace for historically low season -
And as of this week, college basketball is on pace to have its worst offensive year since 1982 (when, like this year, it was 67.6 points per game). In fact, there remains the possibility 2011-12 could be the most anemic year on the scoreboard since 1952, when free throw rules altered the sport forever.
