Before the most anticipated press conference in Syracuse since the last one, the No. 3/4 Syracuse Orange will host Rob Murphy and the Eastern Michigan Eagles in the Dome tonight as they look to improve to 7-0 on the year.
SB Nation NY lets you know which Eagles are worth keeping an eye on this evening:
Statistically, senior guard Darrell Lampley leads the Eagles in scoring (13.0 points per game) and is a solid 3-point shooting threat (41-percent). Junior forward Jamell Harris is Eastern Michigan's leading rebounder (7.3 rebounds per game).
That said, the Orange enter the game as 28 1/2-point favorites.
The playes have obviously been staying away from the media all week but some former players know that they're going to have their heads on straight once the game begins:
"Obviously, there’s shock," said former Syracuse player Howard Triche, whose nephew Brandon starts at guard for the Orange. "Then you have a void. Then you have to go through the process. You grieve the process. It’ll take a little bit of time for them to adjust to this."
"I think the way they played in Madison Square Garden, I think they’re going to be focused," Syracuse legend Pearl Washington said.
FYI, Kris Joseph named the Big East's player of the week for his performance in New York City last week.
Joseph averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals in SU's wins over Virginia Tech and Stanford. He scored 20 and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Hokies and contributed 18 points and nine rebounds against Stanford.
