Jim Boeheim told reporter Saturday that he welcomes negative recruiting by other schools in the wake of the Bernie Fine allegations.

However, when it comes to recruiting, other schools might not even need to do too much for the time being.

Brooklyn's Isaiah Whitehead, who has had Syracuse on his list for a while now, has dropped the Orange from consideration over the Bernie Fine situation.

"They’re definitely off his list," she said. "Isaiah’s not going there. That’s out of the question. Once you have something like that in the program, you don’t want to be a part of it. You don’t know who else is involved. You don’t know who else knew about it. It’s a lot to deal with."

Before we all freak out and blast Whitehead for his quick decision, let's all take a step back and say..."We get it." That quote comes from his mother and I'm pretty sure everyone's mother would be just as cautious given the circumstances.

That said, it's a bummer to lose out on such a good, local talent:

Whitehead is considered one of the fastest-rising prospects of the 2014 class, after helping Lincoln to the Class AA PSAL championship game last season. He's No. 20 on ESPN's "Terrific 25" list for 2014; he's ranked No. 19 by Rivals.com and is the No. 4 shooting guard according to Scout.com.

And so it goes...
