Inside Lacrosse has unveiled the lineups for the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic and while the Syracuse Orange will be skipping the former, they will be facing off against a familiar opponent in the latter.
Last year, Syracuse withheld a late rally to fend off the Duke Blue Devils, 13-11. These two future conference rivals will face-off once again in 2012 when they battle in the 4pm match in what is now known as MetLife Stadium.
Sandwiching the game will be a game between the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish and the St. John's Red Storm at 1pm as as well as the North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Johns Hopkins at 6:30pm.
Five of those six teams took part in last year's Big City Classic. The only change is Notre Dame, who replaces Rutgers.
Last year, the Syracuse-Duke game was the "main event" and this year it's been flip-flopped with the UNC-JHU game. Not entirely sure why. I find it hard to believe anyone will draw more fans than SU and many of them might not stick around for the finale.
Ticket go on sale November 15 for the Konica Minolta Big City Classic. Ticket prices are: $75 for Coaches Club seats; $45 for West Midfield seats (Lower Level); $45 for the Touchdown Club (Mezzanine) seats; $25 for Lower Level reserved seats; $20 for groups of 10 or more; and $15 for groups of 100 or more. 16,000 folks jammed the stadium last year for the games, so make sure you get your tickets early to ensure a good seat. Keep an eye on Big City Classic's website for more details.
