NetScouts Basketball — Blog — Big East Weekly Recap: Kris Joseph Player of the Week
Syracuse’s Kris Joseph led the Orange to victory vs. Providence with a career high 27-points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. The 6’7" junior from Canada leads the Orange in scoring for the season, and averaged 22.5 points this week to go along with grabbing 6.5 rebounds to guide his team to first place in the Big East Conference. As a forward, Joseph shot a strong 6-of-11 from behind the arc and also added 3 steals to be named NetScouts Basketball’s Big East Player of the Week.

Orange::44: Monday Morning Quarterback 1/3/11
In a season where defense has helped Syracuse win and the offense often times puttered around, the bowl game was a role-reversal. Syracuse put up 498 total yards. As in, two short of 500. Amazing! 198 of them belonged to Delone Carter on the ground. To the tune of 239 yards on 13 completions from 21 attempts, good for 62%.

While his nine assists were nice, he needs to play with more control and not have outings like Saturday’s where he turns the ball over five times in a game that can be accurately described as moderately-paced.

The Mysterious Disappearance of Syracuse Commit Dom Timbers : Orange Fizz – Syracuse Recruiting, Sports Rumors, Podcasts, Student Life
Scour the internet and you’ll find plenty on his Syracuse recruitment and "breakout player" status during his last three high school seasons. The Fizz even blogged about his dismissal from high school for an untucked shirt. However, nothing pops up on his concrete whereabouts.

Syracuse’s Pinstripe Bowl Win Has All the Qualities of a Marrone Team : Orange Fizz – Syracuse Recruiting, Sports Rumors, Podcasts, Student Life
While just getting to a bowl is indeed most of the battle, and probably as important as winning it, it doesn’t change how sweet the victory felt. It hit me when I saw Doug Marrone on the sidelines as the final seconds ticked off the game clock, teary eyed, drenched with Gatorade, embracing his players – this win was a long time coming.
