Kris Joseph Hurts Head, Status For Pittsburgh Game Unclear

Syracuse moved to 18-0 today by beating No. 25 Cincinnati 67-52, and we'll get to that, but Cuse Nation has much more pressing matters at the moment.

With six and a half minutes to go in the first half, Kris Joseph hit the ground hard, smacking his head against the floor, and laid there for a good five minutes before leaving under his own power (watch it at the :47 mark of the video here). He did not return to the game.

The good news is that Joseph was walking around in the locker room afterward, though he wasn't there after the game was over.

While its still early, Jim Boeheim isn't too hopeful that Kris will be available for Monday's big game against Pittsburgh.

Kris went down hard," SU coach Jim Boeheim said later, in his post-game remarks. "I don’t have any idea what’s going on. We won’t know anything for sure. It’s obviously unlikely with the turnaround, with a Monday game like this. He got banged pretty good when he hit the floor. We’re going to have to wait and see. Hopefully it won’t be long. But we’ll just have to wait and see the next couple days what they bring."

There were apparently seven NBA scouts in the crowd today to watch Kris play, so that's a bummer. Fingers are crossed for a speedy recovery.
