Syracuse Ranked No. 4 For Another Week, Eight Big East Teams In Rankings

For a week in which twelve ranked teams lost, not much has changed. At least not up top.

Duke remains your No. 1 team in the land and Syrause remains No. 4 in both the AP and Coaches Polls.

In the AP, the Big East has eight teams ranked, including Syracuse, No. 5 Pitt, No. 7 Villanova, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 10 UConn, No. 18 Louisville, No. 22 Georgetown and No. 25 Cincinnati.

Tom Keegan of the Lawrence Journal World is our favorite voter of the week. He's got the Orange up at No. 2 in the nation. Jeff Goodman and Jon Wilner are your most hated voters of the week, both putting the Orange at No. 5. Wilner's a strange one (which is an understatement) since he had SU at No. 3 in the previous week. Guess he wasn't too impressed with the Seton Hall game.

The Coaches Poll has seven Big East teams in its Top 25, leaving out Cincinnati. They also have UConn two spots ahead of Notre Dame, who beat the Huskies last week. Go figure.

Syracuse is also No. 4 in the RPI this week, behind Kansas, BYU and Georgetown.

Oh and Ken Pomeroy continues to be extremely unimpressed with the Orange. He's got us all the way down at No. 8. It doesn't help that teams like Northern Iowa and Michigan State are pooping the bed and dragging down our SOS.

Finally, Scoop Jardine leads the nation is Extreme, Awkward Faces this week (see photo).
