The greatest tragedy of the season has been the fact that we still don't have a clear understanding if he prefers Steve Rene or Steven Rene. Personally, I think Steven works better. Steve Rene sounds too jolty. Not enough syllables.
Unfortunately, that question will likely remain unanswered for another season. Receiver and punt returner Rene suffered a shoulder injury during the Colgate game and due to it he will miss the rest of the season.
Freshman wide receiver and punt returner Steve Rene will miss the rest of the season after injuring his left shoulder during Saturday's 42-7 victory over Colgate, the Syracuse University athletics department said tonight. Rene suffred a torn labrum and will need surgery. He had played in all four Orange games this season.
While he didn't get too much of a chance to show us what he can do on the field, he at least separated himself enough from the pack that he was the No. 2 punter returner on the team.
Mike Holmes seems to have settled into that punt return role, which is good news considering his main back-up is now gone.
